Quoting software for CNC plasma and oxy-fuel cutting

In plasma and oxy-fuel, thickness sets the price: it changes cut speed, pierce time and consumable wear. MakerCutt reads the DXF, applies your machine’s parameters for each thickness, and delivers price, weight, machine time and lead time.

What drives the plasma cutting price

  • Cut length read from the DXF, outer profiles and holes
  • Cutting speed by thickness, set on your plasma machine
  • Pierce time for each contour, which increases with thickness
  • Consumables (nozzle and electrode) and gas as machine-hour cost or per meter
  • Material per sheet or per kilogram, with weight by density

Oxy-fuel for thick plate

In thick carbon steel oxy-fuel cutting the speed is low and preheating before each pierce adds a lot of time. Set up the machine with real speeds and pierce times; the system applies them to every part and thickness—no manual math.

Speeds for all thicknesses

Enter the speed for your thinnest and thickest plate. Intermediate thicknesses are suggested by inverse proportion, and pierce time follows the same rule.

From DXF to production

  1. FileUpload the DXF; the system measures profiles, holes, area and weight.
  2. Machine and thicknessChoose plasma or oxy-fuel and the thickness; speed, pierce and machine hour rate come from your settings.
  3. MaterialNesting lays out sheets and searches thick-plate offcuts/remnants in stock.
  4. Lead time and approvalLead time comes from the machine queue; once approved it becomes a work order.

FAQ

How much does plasma cutting per meter cost?

It depends on thickness, the machine and your machine hour rate. A flat per‑meter price is wrong on parts with many holes; the system prices by each part’s real time and shows the per‑meter value for reference.

Can I run plasma and laser in the same system?

Yes. Each machine has its own speed table and machine hour rate. In the quote you choose which machine will cut the part.

Do I need a credit card to try it?

No. The trial is 7 days with full access and no card. Upload your own DXF files, add your materials and see the calculated price before deciding.
